Retinue
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Retinue is operated by The BlueWhale. This policy explains how Retinue processes data for Shopify merchants that install and use the app.
1. Who we are
Retinue helps Shopify merchants organize buyer history across product drops, understand repeat purchase behavior, and create retention workflows such as tiers, perks, and lifecycle segments.
Contact: admin@thebluewhale.online
Business address: Vishrantwadi, Pune, Maharashtra 411015, India.
2. Data we process
When a merchant installs Retinue, we may process Shopify store data needed to provide the app, including shop information, orders, products, customer identifiers, transaction-related metadata, app configuration, retention tiers, and derived analytics.
Retinue does not collect or store customer payment card numbers. Payment processing remains handled by Shopify and the merchant's payment providers.
3. How we use data
Authenticate and operate the Shopify app.
Build retention analytics and buyer segments for the merchant.
Support tiers, perks, early access, discount workflows, and subscription-box workflows.
Process app billing and account administration.
Respond to support, security, compliance, and legal requests.
4. Shopify protected customer data
Retinue requests only the Shopify access scopes needed for its retention workflows. Where Shopify requires protected customer data approval, we use that data only to provide the app to the merchant.
5. Data sharing and subprocessors
We may use hosting, database, queue, email, monitoring, and analytics providers to run Retinue. If the merchant connects a third-party service such as Klaviyo, Retinue may send configured events or segments to that merchant-controlled account.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain merchant and customer data only as long as needed to provide Retinue, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retinue supports Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS in transit, encrypted app secrets where applicable, webhook verification, and tenant isolation.
8. International processing
Data may be processed in countries where The BlueWhale, Shopify, and our infrastructure providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Your rights
Depending on location, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data. End customers should contact the merchant first because the merchant controls its customer relationship. We assist merchants with valid requests.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by changing the date above and, where appropriate, notifying merchants.
